What is included in a Cabo yacht charter?
This is where most price comparisons go wrong. Two boats with the same price can be very different experiences.
- Essential charters include the boat, captain and crew, fuel for the standard route, and basic amenities. Food and drinks are not included, but you can bring your own or add an all-inclusive upgrade for $125 per hour.
- All-inclusive charters include an open bar and a menu prepared on board — the easiest option if you do not want to plan anything.
- Superyachts add space, comfort and a full crew; food and beverage packages are quoted with your reservation.
Snorkeling gear, paddleboards and similar extras vary by boat. We confirm exactly what your yacht includes before you pay anything.
How long should you book? 2, 4 or 6 hours
The route that most visitors want — El Arco, Lover’s Beach, the sea lion colony and Land’s End — takes about 2 hours. That is perfect for a sunset cruise or a first look at the bay.
Four hours is the most popular choice because it adds time to anchor in a calm bay such as Santa María or Chileno, swim, snorkel and eat without rushing. Six hours works well for bigger celebrations or if you want to explore more of the coastline along the Tourist Corridor.
Local tip: A 4-hour afternoon charter that ends at sunset gives you swimming time and golden-hour photos at the Arch in the same trip.
What makes the price go up (or down)?
- Boat size and category. The biggest factor. A 35 ft yacht and a 100 ft superyacht are different products.
- Number of guests. Some yachts include a set number of guests and charge per extra person; others price the whole boat up to its legal capacity.
- Food and drinks. All-inclusive packages cost more but usually save money and time compared with buying everything yourself.
- Season and day. Holidays, spring break and weekends book first. Price is the same, but availability is not.
- Gratuity. Not included. 15–20% for the crew is customary in Cabo.
Per person, a private yacht is often cheaper than you think
A 4-hour charter on a 47 ft yacht for 12 people costs $1,460 — about $122 per person for a private boat, your own music and your own schedule. Many shared booze cruises cost a similar amount per person once you add drinks and photos.
