8 Best Adventure Activities in Los Cabos (2026 Guide)

Los Cabos is more than pools and cocktails. Where the desert meets two seas, you can reel in a marlin at sunrise, snorkel with tropical fish before lunch and watch the sun drop behind El Arco by dinner. Here are the adventure activities we recommend most — and how to fit them into your trip.

1. Sportfishing for marlin, tuna and dorado

Cabo is one of the best sportfishing destinations on the planet, and you do not need to be an expert to enjoy it. Boats leave the marina at 6:00 or 7:00 am, the crew handles the gear, and you focus on the fight. A private sportfishing charter runs 5 or 8 hours. Not sure when to come? Read our month-by-month fishing guide.

2. Snorkeling in Santa María and Chileno bays

These two protected bays along the Tourist Corridor have calm, clear water and rocky reefs full of fish. Reaching them by private boat means no crowds on the sand and more time in the water. Our private snorkeling tours anchor where conditions are best that day.

Local tip: Water is clearest and calmest in the morning. Book a morning snorkel and an afternoon sunset cruise for the perfect day.

3. Boat trip to El Arco and Land’s End

The granite arch at the tip of the Baja Peninsula is the icon of Los Cabos, and the only way to see it up close is from the water. The classic route passes Lover’s Beach, the sea lion colony and Pelican Rock. It takes about two hours and is included in every private yacht charter.

4. Whale watching (mid-December to mid-April)

Every winter, humpback whales migrate to the warm waters of Baja California Sur to mate and give birth. It is common to see breaches and tail slaps right off Cabo’s coast. Any charter during the season is a chance to spot them.

5. Stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking

Médano Beach and the calmer bays are great for paddling. Many yachts carry paddleboards or kayaks — ask when you book so we can match you with the right boat.

6. Scuba diving

Cabo San Lucas Bay and the Sea of Cortez offer dives for every level, from shallow reefs to the famous sand falls. If you are certified, combine a dive with a relaxed afternoon on the water.

7. ATVs and desert tours

Inland, the desert and Pacific dunes offer a completely different landscape. It is a fun half-day that pairs well with a morning on the boat.

8. Sunset cruise

Not every adventure has to be extreme. A private sunset cruise is the most popular way to end a Cabo day — golden light on the Arch, a drink in hand and the marina lights coming on.

How to plan your adventure days

  • Mornings are best for fishing, snorkeling and diving (calmer seas, better visibility).
  • Afternoons suit land tours and relaxing at the pool.
  • Evenings belong to the sunset cruise.
  • Book water activities early in your trip — if weather moves a date, you still have time to reschedule.
